Bangor Police say dog walker found body in Kenduskeag

Bangor Police are investigating after a body was found in Kenduskeag Creek.

Officials said a woman walking her dog over the weekend noticed the body near the shore and notified authorities. Bangor Police identified the man as Lance Bradford, 35, from the Levant. Bradford was released from prison in April after serving time for a burglary.

Authorities suspect Bradford died of a drug overdose, but say it will be several weeks before toxicology test results confirm this. At this point, his death is not being considered suspicious.

Bradford was arrested on May 5, 2021 after breaking into a man’s home on West Broadway in Bangor and assaulting the landlord. The victim escaped Bradford and called police as the suspect rushed to a house on the corner of Pier Street and Broadway. At this address, he tried to jump from one roof to another but fell to the ground where the police were waiting for him. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to Penobscot County Jail.

Bangor Police Sergeant Wade Betters said Bradford had a long criminal history.
