‘Little House on the Prairie’ Alum Melissa Gilbert Calls Husband Timothy Busfield ‘My Cozy Place’

Ancient little house on the prairie Star Melissa Gilbert is currently promoting her new book, Back to the meadow. Still known for her iconic role as Laura “Half-Pint” Ingalls, Gilbert has found contentment away from Hollywood with her husband, Timothy Busfield. The actor recently shared how his third marriage and his home in a rural setting gave him much-needed peace.

Gilbert was previously married to actors Bo Brinkman and Bruce Boxleitner, and wasn’t looking to start a romance with another actor when Busfield arrived. She remembers having a drink alone and talking to an acquaintance the day she came across the thirty and some alum.

“I usually don’t sit alone in bars,” Gilbert said in 2014, according to MLive. “I was alone, talking to Joe the bartender.”

Busfield vividly remembered seeing Gilbert and instantly knew he was in love. The two married in 2013.

“I was just going out to have a slice of pizza and a beer and watch sports on TV, and I knew the place would be empty,” Busfield recalled. “So I walked through the front door and there was a person, sitting in my chair, at the bar. … I walked in, sat at the bar and ordered a drink. Then I took it. sight smile and I left.

In a recent interview, Gilbert, 58, highlighted how she and Busfield, 64, were both married before they met and came into that union more wisely. the Small house alum shared how they were both looking for contentment at this point in their lives and finding it in each other.

“We’ve both been there, we’ve both had a few marriages behind us,” Gilbert said. hello america “I think we both wanted a more peaceful partnership or [to] be alone. We’re just very equal and we treat each other that way, and I think that’s what makes the difference. It’s my cover. He is my place of comfort.

Gilbert prioritizes a sense of humor and revealed that Busfield ticks all the boxes in that category.

‘Back to the Prairie’ tells of a new life in the Catskills

The pair pulled out of the Tinseltown stakes and headed to Michigan after walking down the aisle. Later, finding a cabin in upstate New York on 14 acres, Gilbert and Busfield settled in the Catskills and went to work restoring their new home.

Now relishing a “sweeter, simpler and more comfortable life”, Gilbert also commented that she is finally able to embrace her age now that she is away from the glare of the spotlight.

“I had to leave LA to get older, which I wanted to do,” she said. “I’m excited about it. I love all these changes and watching what happens and getting to know this new person.
