Mobile woman and her dog are safe after a tree fell on her house

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A woman from Mobile has been taken to hospital after a tree fell on her house. It happened on Barretts Lane on Thursday night.

According to her friends and law enforcement, she is fine. Just shaken. Now, crews will spend the next two days removing the tree.

Friends of the woman who lives there told FOX10 she was bedridden. They said she heard the sound of the tree crashing, but had no idea what happened.

Neighbors say they also heard the big bang and came out to see it.

“I was in my garden and noticed a loud noise. I came to the front because I thought maybe a limb had fallen on the street. I went up further and there was a whole tree that was going through this woman’s house. It destroyed the roof and the whole side of the wall was gone. It moved from the foundation,” a neighbor said.

His neighbor called 911 when he saw the damage. Crews rushed to the scene to rescue her and her dog who were both still inside.

Luckily, both were fine. The neighbors are just glad it’s not much worse.

“I’ve never seen anything like it before. I’ve never heard anything like it here before”.
