MPHRC requests report on dog bite and plaster collapse on roof

BHOPAL (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission has heard of two cases, the first relating to the death of an eight-year-old girl from a dog bite and the other relating to plaster falling on two pregnant women in Barwani district, officials said on Monday.

The MPHRC asked the district collector of Ratlam to submit a report on the girls within a month. The girl Maya, who lives in the village of Rampuria-Patdi, was playing in front of her house when the stray dogs bit her. She was taken to a private hospital and given a rabies injection. After seven days, she received another injection. But on January 7, her health deteriorated and she was admitted to the Ratlam District Hospital where she died that evening. Police registered the case on Saturday and performed the autopsy.

The commission took note and questioned the collector on the financial assistance granted to the deceased family. He is also requested to submit the death report in which the injury report is to be included.

On Saturday, roof plaster fell on two pregnant women at the Barwani District Hospital. One of the women suffered head injuries. A scanner was performed. The commission questioned the collector about the financial assistance given to the victim and a detailed report of the incident was requested by CMHO.
