Neglected IN dog makes remarkable recovery and is adopted
The photos of Blue, the day a Good Samaritan found him abandoned and scared, are etched in my memory. The photos were heartbreaking.
In Blue’s eyes I saw all the animals I had ever loved and all the animals I love now. I wanted to run to his side and love his pain and fear in the distance. Like me, Blue became the Tristate’s dog.
We were all shooting for him and knew he was in the right place to heal his wounds and relearn how to trust, VHS. Through their expert care, thoughtful patience and tender hearts, Blue has survived and thrived.
Here is part of Blue’s story on the VHS Facebook page.
She was found at Bluegrass Fish and Wildlife Area on September 5. At first, passers-by who saw her barely recognized her as a dog. Blue was almost hairless and badly sunburned. She was covered with sores and calluses, and her overgrown fingernails made walking painful. After seeing the severity of her condition, VHS workers rushed to take Blue and begin treatment.
Thorough blood work revealed that Blue was an elderly dog ââwith the potential to make a full recovery. After months of care by our medical team, Blue is a new dog! Her health and personality have both made a complete transformation! She was nervous and sore at first, but received so much love during her time on VHS that she is now the confident, happy, energetic dog she was always meant to be. At VHS and in foster care, she has relearned to trust and love humans. We are delighted to announce that Blue has now found his forever family!
These before and after photos will blow your mind.
When he first got to VHS he couldn’t even walk. Watch it now !!
We all love you, Blue! We are so happy that you are all better, happy and ADOPTED! XO
