“Santa in an Igloo” arrives in downtown Monroe
The Downtown Monroe Business Network brings Santa Claus to the town of Monroe.
The organization is sponsoring “Santa Claus in an Igloo” this holiday season, inviting visitors and city residents to come downtown and visit Santa Claus inside an igloo that will be located on E. Front Street.
“A lot of people said they remembered visiting Santa Claus at his home in downtown Monroe when they were young,” said Downtown Monroe Business Network event coordinator Paula Stanifer. “So we decided to bring this back to the way of 2021 and use an igloo.”
Santa will be available for tours starting Saturday, November 27 Small Business, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. He will return every Thursday evening until December, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The stores will remain open until 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings in December. Food trucks will also be parked on E. Front St. and Miss Monroe County 2021, and Miss Outstanding Teen Monroe County 2021 will be signing autographs downtown every Thursday in December.
Additionally, on Small Business Saturdays, the Floral City Harmonizers will play music for downtown shoppers.
