Text description provided by the architects. Situated on a corner lot, this house has two fronts with an additional front facing the corner. In general, this house offers a variety of spatial experiences that are well interpreted in both the plans and the built form.

In the plans, the first floor plan consists of a living room, dining room, bedroom, and a compact interior courtyard to keep natural light entering the house. The plan of the second floor, which crosses them, includes three more bedrooms and two bathrooms. These rooms have exclusive access to the small rooftop on the third floor.

In the built form or facade, the corner of the site is emphasized by twisting the second story to follow the axis of the corner, creating a “loose” box outside the first story. There is a black box mass on the second floor, crossing the site towards the corner. Each structural column has been aligned to maintain the twisted mass on the second stage without interfering with the spatial quality of the first stage. It becomes an important corner statement of the house that was created to be “detached” or separate from the overall mass, but still an integrated composition.

Along with the corner strategy, this house also features a rich but balanced combination of building materials and colors. Using a terracotta rooster combined with a textured white wall, wood accents, and a black color for statement, this home showcases a vibrant and monumental masterpiece in the neighborhood.
